This is the suggested starting place for players that fall into any of these scenarios:
- Less than 3000 battles
- 0 - 899 recent WN8 (you can check your rWN8 on wotlabs.net or tanks.gg)
- Recent win rate is 49% or less
- You personally believe you may not have a firm grasp on core game play mechanics
- You want to confirm that you understand all aspects of game mechanics
I was here once myself, and wished I had a guide like this when I began my WoT career. It is important to have a good understanding of the fundamental mechanics that WoT is based on. This guide is sort of like a mathematics course. A firm understanding of basic mathematics is required in order to perform complex equations - a good fundamental understanding of the core mechanics will help you understand the topics of advanced lessons.
Just as the subtitle implies by the end of this curriculum you should be able to go into any match and fully understand why ‘X’ (whatever it may be) happened to you. Below are all the topics you should fully understand and grasp before moving on. As you gain a good core knowledge of game mechanics and begin to use your knowledge in game, you should directly see improvements in your recent WN8 and PR.
Much of the information in these sections was pilfered from the world of tanks wiki. I’ve attempted to trim away excess information to streamline the reading, however if you have further questions on any given topic I will add links to the wiki articles.
The remaining information was generated from game mechanics experts on the WoT Discord. I recommend you join - it's an excellent place to share your love of tanks, ask questions, and find community.
Note: The guide is under construction, links will become active as I complete the articles. The list of articles may also grow and change.

Once your statistics have improved measurably (your recent WN8 has reached 900-1599) - or after you believe you have a firm grasp of core mechanics it's time to move to the next section: Micro Position and Micro Play.
